/ Project Details
Name: Kaitak Hall of Fame
Client: Kai Tak Sports Park
Role: Technology Director
Year: 2025
Experience: Launch Experience

/ Challenge
The Hall of Fame needed to feel like a public exhibition, not a website placed on a screen. It had to support bilingual discovery across decades of sporting achievement, run reliably inside a venue environment, and move curated content from a managed CMS into an offline local runtime connected to multiple display surfaces.
/ Provided Services
Technology Direction
Led technical decisions across CMS, data model, local runtime, media packaging, deployment and exhibition hardware integration.
Platform Architecture
Designed a workflow where a bespoke online CMS prepares content packages for a Windows-based stadium application running on the venue network.
Interactive Experience
Delivered the technical foundation for touch browsing, search, medal filtering, athlete detail views, photo credits and particle-led attract states.

/ Solution
I directed a turnkey technical approach spanning the public-facing touchscreen application, content operations and venue playback stack. The system uses a bespoke CMS to prepare media and data, then deploys packages to a local runtime that can distribute content to touchscreens, BrightSign media players, Novastar controllers, the Welcome Torch, medallist rings and external displays.
/ Value Delivered
Exhibition-Ready Platform
Created a practical bridge between cloud-managed content workflows and an offline stadium environment designed for daily operation.
Structured Sporting Archive
Supported 593 medalists, 33 sports, 37 games and more than 1,000 medal records across bilingual Games and Sports views.
Multi-Surface Delivery
Coordinated software, media players, display controllers, touchscreens, network, power and scheduled operation into one exhibition system.
/ Project Note
This project sat in the rewarding middle ground between software architecture and physical space: cloud CMS, offline runtime, touchscreen interaction, bilingual content operations and the practical realities of venue hardware all had to work as one system.
